NFT & NFT sale
The Beanels in Beanterra are represented as a ZRC-1 tokens. An immutable 'gene' of the Beanel is represented as an internal hash string associated with each NFT. Beanel's NFT traits are computed using this internal hash string. The smart contract also generates new Beanel NFTs using a breeding function that takes the parents' hashes and other entropy sources as input.
10,000 origin Beanels will be up for an initial NFT sale, with a uniform distribution of Beanel classes and elements.
The various Beanel body parts and qualities will have varying rarity factors—the rarest being legendary Beanels (i.e. Beanels with a very specific combination of rare body parts). The legendary Beanels will have an environmentally-themed design combined with a special environmental awareness message.
The NFT sale will be structured into various phases. The exact dates, phases and price will be announced at a later date in our community channels.
Fungible tokens
Beanterra's tokenomics is based on the circulation of 2 tokens:
Genesis Particle (GP) token
Genesis Particle ($GP) token is a fixed supply ZRC-2 token used to reward players, fund game development, and maintain a healthy community around the Beanterra game. $GP will first be listed for an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) after our Genesis Beanel NFT sale, and later will be listed on ZilSwap (where it can be swapped directly with $ZIL).
Token utility
The majority of the token allocation will be used to incentivize the community through the play-to-earn reward pool and multiple airdrops for early adopters (see our token allocation for a detailed breakdown). Rewards for completing regular quests, challenges, and special events will keep the player community active and engaged.
Beanterra players can earn, spend, and stake $GP. As of now, players will spend $GP during Beanel breeding, relic crafting, relay fees for Zilliqa transactions, and NFT royalties. In the future, Beanterra may increase more ways to earn and spend $GP to enhance the player experience. We aim to create a healthy, balanced reward pool that can scale adaptively to an increasing user base over a long period, providing a high APY to both early and late-stage players even during a bear market.
As the game matures, Beanterra will provide more avenues of $GP utility for players. One such avenue is the implementation of social elements/features to generate a sense of community and bonding among players, together with the community DAO.
Earning $GP
$GP is the main in-game reward token in Beanterra. Players can earn $GP by completing single-player missions, daily/weekly quests or special events, and scoring on the seasonal leaderboards in the game.
There will be limited chances (based on the available ‘energy’ of the Beanel) for players to earn $GP daily, and the earnable amount depends on the difficulty level of the map. This limits the maximum drain of $GP from the play-to-earn pool and encourages players to get into a habitual gameplay loop. Additionally, players can earn $GP by selling Beanels, crafted relics, and other game NFTs planned in the future.
Spending $GP
Beanterra has a non-linear game economy design that encourages players to spend $GP wisely in exchange for potential long-term growth and player returns. $GP is used when:
Breeding Beanel NFTs that can be used in the game
Buying Relics (artefacts to use / enhance Beanel abilities) and raw materials for crafting new relics
Buying game passes (such as the ‘Wishing Well Pass’), which gives players additional chances for loot (Relic) drops
Buying cosmetic accessories to unlock ‘quality-of-life’ features
Trading NFTs in Beanterra’s own NFT marketplace
Enabling gasless meta-transactions
Note: Future avenues to spend $GP also include but are not limited to land sales, unlocking social interaction features, and dynamic world-building.
Staking $GP
There will be two ways to stake $GP in Beanterra:
Firstly, we will partner with various DEXs to allow for staking of $GP in liquidity pools, to allow players to earn DeFi ROI staking rewards on their tokens.
Secondly, players will be able to stake in Beanterra’s internal staking pool, which provides in-game benefits, automatic levelling up of their Beanels, and community voting rights to the players.
This maximises the staking pool, helps to further stabilise $GP volatility, and caters to different staking audiences and strategies.
Breeding tokenomics
The amount of $GP required for breeding will be determined by two factors: a base breeding cost and a multiplier based on the number of times the Beanel has previously bred.
Since $GP is a fixed supply token based on a deflationary model, it is expected that $GP will appreciate in price over time, and conversely, the base breeding price will be adjusted accordingly to maintain a reasonably low barrier for new Beanels to be born.
Each Beanel will be able to breed for a maximum of 6 times, gaining an additional breeding chance every time it passes a minimum EXP level for each breeding count. The multiplier factor increases the breeding cost for each consecutive breeding count.
Genesis Beanels will have the special privilege of breeding for the first time with no EXP condition.
The breeding system will launch shortly after the $GP token sale, with an early breeder price of 10,000 $GP.
Beanz (BZ) Token
Beanz (BZ) token is a mint-and-burn token used to incentivize sustainable actions in the real world and unlock gameplay in Beanterra. Through partnerships with third-party sustainability apps, Beanz tokens will be minted to users who perform various kinds of sustainable actions, and are usable in the Beanterra game to assist in gameplay. In the long term, we hope this becomes a model for NFT games: create demand and rewards for actions that produce real-world impact and promote social-environmental good.
The Beanz token will be implemented as a multi-class token (similar to the ERC-1155 standard), so that each minter will have independent control of their own sub-token creation. Green Beanz will start as an initial governing body for whitelisting apps and organizations that show real sustainability impact and then transition towards a DAO-driven model for community-voted whitelisting in the long term.
The Beanterra game will be the first (but not the only) consumer-demand driver for the Beanz token, eventually forming an on-chain community of sustainable apps and organizations. The Beanz token will become the new sustainability currency in an eco-system of sustainability producers and consumers.
Towards 2030, the demand for carbon offset and transparency around sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will only increase. Beanz token will be an on-chain provable record of a company's sustainability footprint, as well as how green an individual's actions are.
DAO
After the public sale of the GP token, DAO tokens will be awarded to early supporters and users who stake their GP tokens. The DAO will be used for community decisions, especially:

Whitelisting new sustainability apps to integrate into the sustainable ecosystem
